Trip Information

My 100% guarantee

Although I can’t guarantee that everyone on the boat takes a fish home, or for that matter gets to fight a fish, I do offer this guarantee:

  • I will be prepared for the trip. The boat will be clean, the gear is top of the line and in great shape, we will have the appropriate bait and tackle for the target fish species.
  • I will be taking you fishing with good odds of catching fish. The rivers will be in shape and the target fish will be in season for the area we are in.
  • I will put on a professional trip to the best of my abilities.

If for any reason you feel that I have not met the 100% guarantee, then I will refund your hard earned $ in full.

  • John Elder Fishing Guide Service operates under special use permit through Deschutes National Forest. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
  • 17′ x 61″ Pavati Drift Boat fishes up to (3) people depending on target fishery and techniques fished that day. Comfort and safety are always first.
  • 24′ Alumaweld Supervee sled fishes up to (6) people. Equipped with comfortable raised back seating with arm rests.
  • Customize trip to your desires. I can fish a multitude of techniques and locations depending on what your experience and desire is

  • All bait provided (variety of baits used with different techniques)

What is not provided and necessary to bring

  • Fishing license and Salmon/Steelhead tag
  • Shellfish license for crabbing
  • Raingear (highly recommended if there is a chance of rain)
  • Warm clothing (dress in layers)

Payment terms
Full payment due upon arrival of the trip for cash paying customers. No checks accepted unless sent in advance at least 3 days prior to the trip.

Credit cards payment needs to be completed by the night before the trip via Square or PayPal with 3.5% added for fees (PayPal @elderjj@hotmail.com). Several locations we fish do not have internet services to run credit cards.

All advanced payments are 100% refundable if we can’t fish the morning of due to weather, river, or guide related issues. Otherwise review cancellation policy.

Kids policy
Kids under 12 fish 1/2 price with 2 paying adults up to 2 kids per trip.

Tips
Tips are appreciated but not required. You will get the same level of effort from me regardless of tipping.
